This week’s goal was to compare our product with a similar product called Dynamount X2-R.
This device solves essentially the same problem as our product. However, the X2-R is only mounted onto a microphone stand and therefore stationary. Our RC mic stand will be a moveable base that can strafe left and right and move forward and back. This allows the user to have increased mobility in where they would like to place the microphone. For example, if two amplifiers are placed next to each other our RC Mic Stand would allow the user to move between the two amplifiers without having to manually move the stand. This would not be possible with the X2-R.

The X2-R uses a system of tracks in an XY formation that allow the mic to move forward, back, left and right and also rotates where the microphone clip attaches. Our product would be able to accomplish all of this movement while also being able to move to an adjacent speaker or instrument and move up an down. The X2-R is able to accomplish up/down movement but it requires the Dynamount Z-Axis accessory to do so. Another ability of our RC Mic Stand has that the X2-R does not have is that it can tilt the microphone in an up down motion as well. Below we summarize the comparison of the Dynamount vs our RC Mic Stand in a table format.
| Dynamount X2-R | RC Mic Stand |
Up/Down Movement | Yes, but only with Z-Axis Accessory that is sold separately. | Yes |
Left/Right Movement | Yes, but only as far as the Left/Right tracks will allow. | Yes, and with the ability to move to another speaker. |
Forward/Backwards Movement | Yes, but only as far as the Forward/Backwards tracks will allow. | Yes, an with the ability to move even further. |
Rotate Microphone | Yes | Yes |
Microphone Tilt | No | Yes |
