The week of Aug 22nd through the 28th, Jacob began creating CAD renderings of the parts need to assemble the mechanical parts of the project. Among these parts are the mount for the horizontal arm motor, the connector for the arm, the chassis platform, and the base connector for the vertical arm. These CAD renderings are pictured below. The tilt and rotation motors were purchased and tested. The video below shows the rotation and tilt motors being testing with the same program used to test the arm motor. The lithium-ion battery powers the motors through the voltage regulator set to maximum 7.4V that the motors are rated for.
The platform shown in the first picture will sit on top of the chassis and hold the battery, voltage regulators, and Arduino Uno. The motor mount, shown in the second picture, will house the up/down arm motor and connect to the PVC pipe being used for arms, the connector piece shown in picture 3, will act as a bracket to hold the horizontal arm and attach to the up/down arm motor, the last picture shows the base mount for the vertical arm, the PVC pipe will fit into the hole and the base of the mount will connect to the rotation motor.
